Claire Russell’s unconventional education, which included lessons in sanskrit, meditation and vedic philosophy, plus a passion for gymnastics sowed the seeds of interest in yoga as an adult. She trained in vinyasa flow in London and India in 2007 and since has completed both pregnancy and mum and baby yoga trainings with Uma Dinsmore Tuli and Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff and in 2016 Yoga for Insomnia training with Lisa Sanfilipo.
After the birth of her first child, Claire opened up her classes to parents with little ones in tow providing a space for mums to share their practice of yoga with their little ones close by. During this time she consulted and took courses with women’s health physios, she explored the work of movement experts in this field and developed an effective practice to support postpartum healing. Her intention in her classes is to support students in a process of rebuilding strength safely from the inside out, to create space in body and mind and to enjoy the bonding experience of having the little along side.
She also runs classes form her home studio ‘the yoga nest’ offering one to one sessions for her postnatal students and yoga for insomnia clients.
Classes interlace mudra, nidra, breath work and centering practices, to facilitate a mind and body healing and balance.
